What is Plaid Friday?
Several years ago, the Astoria Downtown Historic District Association (ADHDA) came up with a brilliant idea to help local businesses be a part of the shopping fun (or madness, you decide) of Black Friday.
Plaid Friday is a relaxing and enjoyable alternative to the big box store “Black Friday”. It is designed to promote local and independent businesses. Ahhh, strolling Downtown and browsing the variety of shops, galleries, and restaurants sounds wonderful!
Plaid Friday was conceived from the idea of weaving individual threads of small businesses together to create a strong fabric celebrating our diversity and creativity. We love being a part of Astoria’s Downtown community that hosts many inspired and talented artists who are all loaded with creativity!
Plaid Friday strives to bring back the days when shopping for Friends & Family during the Holidays was a pleasurable and leisurely activity in a classic Downtown setting.
Kevin & I would like to invite you Downtown this Friday, Nov. 29th to shop Astoria’s locally owned shops and restaurants. Shop a little, dine a little, peruse the variety, and WEAR PLAID!
